We also know that despite the 8,000 images of your dog or horse you have on your phone, it’s still really hard to create an image that showcases their full personality or captures the special relationship that you have with them. That’s where I come in.

At NBP we offer a bespoke photography experience for the animal obsessed.

I believe that something as simple as a photograph can whip up emotions that are as real as the day the image was captured. That’s why we say we aren’t in the photography business, but the memory preservation business. The best friend preservation business.

Office Manager

I'm Emma. Make no mistakes. I still rule the roost around here. I was here before the dog - and I plan to still be here after the dog.

My favorite parts of the day are walking all over my mom's computer, drinking from her fresh cup of water, attacking the ankles of unsuspecting humans, and flaunting my power over my canine sister.

Let's be honest though... sometimes I knock things off of the counters, just to watch the world burn.

Head of Security

I'm Cami, a coconut retriever - AKA a mutt from the islands. I was rescued from the streets of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and found my way to a local rescue in Charlotte - and these ears? They landed me an immediate fast track to mom's couch - and heart.

My favorite things to do include eating earthworms, barking at the UPS guy, and general canine menacing - such as the occasional sandwich stealing straight from the table or counter.

Even with my expert menace designation, my family loves me.

Mommy’s Favorite

Rocco here, short for Morocco, AKA. baby horse. Mom bought me off a video at the beginning of COVID - as 3-year old stallion! I quickly became a gelding and now care more about my next meal than the ladies - but I remain the best internet purchase ever!

I’m pretty much the best boi and carry my mom around in the adult hunters, usually without incident. Apparently, I have a really special talent of being able to spend large sums of my mom’s money - although from what she says, this is a common talent of most horses.

Nicole Begley, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, is a zoological animal trainer turned pet photographer and educator. She is the founder of Hair of the Dog Academy, an online community in which she empowers pet photographers to improve their craft and grow their business. Nicole has authored the sold out book “Pet and Equine Photography for Everyone”, available on Amazon for Kindle.

She established Nicole Begley Photography in Pittsburgh, PA in 2010 but now serves the market of Charlotte, NC. Nicole is an international award-winning pet photographer, having received a Photographer of the Year designation from Professional Photographers of America numerous times, as well as numerous local and state awards. She has also earned the title of Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), a peer-reviewed certification.

Nicole shares her home with her husband, two small humans, and her Puerto Rican rescue dog Zoey. Oh yes, she is also Chief of Staff to Emma the cat. She is the creator of the #selfiedog series, a travel addict, and a chocolate martini connoisseur.
