A bespoke experience in which we focus on designing beautiful art for the walls of your home - and then plan our session around that vision.
It’s like consulting with an interior designer to design a custom art piece for you home - an archival handmade piece by artisan craftsmen for your walls only.
In an artwork session, your $500 session fee will be applied to any Signature Series art piece 20x30 or larger.
It's critical that you have a plan to print your images. Otherwise, they are going to slowly fade to obscurity in the deep, dark corners of your computer's hard drive and that is sadder than forgetting where you buried that big juicy bone.
I'm happy to create luxurious and archival artwork for you or if you are going the DIY digital route, I'm happy to recommend some great options for you.

The extras
My dog is a little (insert adjective here; hyper, shy, nervous) so he will never cooperate for a session.
Yes! Approximately 98.9% of the pups that grace these pages are your everyday companions. They may or may not listen to sit or stay and that is JUST FINE! My camera will capture them at 1/1000th of a second so they truly do not have to be quiet or still. Additionally, my background is with animal behavior and animal training so I am prepared to handle your dog’s personality. It’s important to discuss any possible behavior challenges during the pre-session consultation, but sometimes no-one knows the dog is terrified of the sound of the shutter! Whatever the case, we will spend some extra time with your four-legged family member to get them comfortable with me and my camera using positive reinforcement techniques.
I love those outdoor shots but my dog can't be off-leash. What are my options?
The safety of our clients is the number one priority during our session and the only dogs that should come off-leash are the ones that their owners are 110% confident in their ability to recall their pet in that particular situation. In certain situations, like urban shooting, we keep even the most well-behaved dogs on their leash for safety. We can also use the special long line during our session to capture some action shots but still ensure they are safe and sound. All leashes will be magically removed in Photoshop from any ordered image at no additional charge.
How many dogs are included in the session?
Your session can include all the dogs from the same household. So far the most that I have photographed together for one session has been six greyhounds. They do say that greyhounds are like potato chips and you can't have just one.
Can I be in the photos too? What about my human children?
Yes! I encourage you to be in the photos too, as well as any other humans from your household. Yes, this includes children over the age of 4. During our pre-session consultation, we will discuss what types of images we can create during our session and whether the session will focus mainly on your dog, the relationship between you and your dog, or equal focus on both!
My dog doesn't have much time left. Is there a special session?
I’m so sorry. Our pet’s lives are tragically short. Tribute Sessions are available for those pets that are at the end of their time with us. They are regular sessions, but I will give every effort to adjust my schedule to squeeze you in as soon as possible.
Do you photograph any other animals other than dogs?

How far outside of Charlotte do you travel?
I am based near Davidson, NC and will travel throughout the greater Charlotte region. From Fort Mill to Statesville and Gastonia to Waxhaw. Just about any location within an hour of Davidson, NC. If you are interested in a session beyond the greater Charlotte metro, contact me for a customized travel quote.
Do you still offer dog photography services in Pittsburgh, PA?

Do I have to choose a collection now?
While it's helpful to have an idea of which collection you are interested in when booking your session, you do not have to make any final decisions until our viewing and ordering appointment when you see all of your final images!
How does the process work?
The first step is taking a peek around this website and deciding that you want to work with me! If you do, simply book your session here. If you have some questions first, get in touch with me here.
Once your session is booked, we will schedule a pre-session consultation. This is an online meeting in which we will choose a date and time of our session, decide on the perfect location for our session, and plan all of the little details. Don't worry, I have LOTS of suggestions for great locations for even the most reactive and nervous of pups.
At our session, you and your dog's only job is to be yourself! Even if that means your pup is barking at every squirrel and sniffing every tree trunk! It's no problem! You relax as I guarantee we are going to create beautiful images and I've worked with dogs more distracted than yours!
Approximately 1-2 weeks after our session, we will meet online over Zoom. In non-pandemic times, we would meet at my home studio in Cornelius and if there are some samples that you would like to see we can arrange a porch meeting.
At our virtual viewing and ordering appointment, we will go over all of your images, choose your favorites, eat chocolate, and finalize your order together. I will then move your files into production and produce gorgeous custom archival artwork that you will love for a lifetime. Each time you look at them you will be reminded of the joy that your furry family brings you. Animals first, always.

As the name implies, Limited Edition Artisan Sessions are only offered periodically throughout the year. The goal of these sessions is to create a specific image with a specific theme, such as action dogs, or a specific location, such as skyline sessions. These sessions are all-inclusive and include a piece of artwork, starting at $375.
